Meet the Chef

Charismatic Frenchman Daniel Galmiche leads the team at the forbury as Executive Head Chef. The winner of several Michelin stars at different establishments over 18 years, he brings a wealth of experience and quality to the hotel. Recently he was based in London as Executive Head Chef at "Daniel Galmiche at the Clermont Club" in Berkeley Square, and prior to this he was awarded a Michelin star at Waldo's at Cliveden in Berkshire, where he was Executive Head Chef. He has also achieved Michelin stars at Harvey's in Bristol and L'Ortolan near Reading, as well as responsible posts in Portugal, Singapore and Scotland. Daniel regularly appears on regional and national television, including BBC's Saturday Kitchen with James Martin and others.
Daniel says "I'm delighted to be joining Toby Hunter (the owner) and the Forbury Hotel - it is a stunningly luxurious hotel in a great location, and the possibility to create a foodie destination thirty minutes from London. The fine dining experience at Eden celebrating the best of British produce coupled with the relaxed brasserie-style of the existing Cerise restaurant and bar and of course the designer sexiness of the hotel itself creates a place to see and be seen."
